Leicester opened a two point gap in third place over Arsenal as they crushed Steve Bruce’s Newcastle 5-0 at the King Power Stadium over the weekend. The Magpies had been the only team to have beaten Leicester in the league under Brendan Rodgers, but there was to be no repeat of their April 2019 win as they failed to even muster a single shot on target.
With Arsenal and West Ham both drawing, Leicester are now two points ahead of the duo.
After surviving an early spell of Newcastle pressure, Leicester opened their account in style with RB Ricardo producing a fine solo run down the right flank before finishing brilliantly to put the home side 1-0. Continue reading
