Newcastle 2-3 Leicester | Foxes ruin Magpies’ anniversary celebrations

Leicester City picked up their third straight win and moved up to eighth after a late own goal gave them victory at St.James Park against struggling Newcastle. The Magpies were celebrating the 125th anniversary of their founding in the build-up to the game, but the result gave them little to cheer for, with Ayoze Perez’s late own goal ensuring that manager Rafa Benitez suffered three Premier League defeats on the bounce for the first time in his career.

Newcastle’s strikes came through Joselu and Gayle while Leicester’s goals arrived from the boots of Mahrez and Gray

Newcastle’s next clash is against Everton, who managed to hold in-form Liverpool to a draw and are yet to be defeated under new manager Sam Allardyce.
