Leicester are one of several clubs interested in young Wigan Athletic forward Kyle Joseph. The Latics, who became the first professional club in England to go into administration after Covid-19, are staring at a tough future and potential relegation after being given a 12 point deduction by the EFL. Several of their players could leave the DW Stadium in the summer, and that includes Joseph, the young Scottish youth international
However the Foxes face some serious competition for the teenager’s signature, with fellow Premier League outfit Sheffield United and Scottish giants Celtic also said to be monitoring the youngster’s progress. Joseph is not the only player that Leicester and Celtic are both in the race for- the duo are also reportedly interested in Legia defender Michal Karbownik. The Polish youngster is one of the candidates for the left back position at the King Power should Ben Chilwell’s transfer materialise this summer, as many expect to.
Apart from Joseph, there are several other Wigan players Leicester are interested. Defender Antonee Robinson, a left back like Karbownik, is one target as is forward Joe Gelhardt.
Joseph’s transfer might be to the team that offers him the quickest route to first team footy. As it stands, Leicester and Sheffield United could both end up qualifying for Europe next season, the former potentially in the Champions League, which could also affect the teen’s decision.
