Leicester’s three game winning streak across all competitions was brought to an abrupt halt as Everton came away from the King Power Stadium with three points thanks to a superb second half strike from Gylfi Sigurdsson.

The visitors had taken the lead through Richarlison’s 7th minute strike, but a superb counter attack before half time saw Ricardo Pereira draw the Foxes level.

Leicester’s Wes Morgan had been sent off in mid September against Bournemouth, and he collected another second half sending off here, dismissed in the 63rd minute. Morgan’s dismissal helped Everton register back to back wins for the first time this season, with Gylfi Sigurdsson scoring a superb individual goal from long range to sink the Foxes. The Toffees had beaten Fulham 3-0 prior to their visit to the King Power, and are now level on points with Leicester, with both teams having 12 points to show for their efforts after 8 games.

Everton will host Crystal Palace after the international break, while Leicester will travel to the Emirates to take on in form Arsenal.
