LEICESTER’S Town Hall Square will once again be transformed into a haven for children and their families this Wednesday (4th August), as the city celebrates national Play Day.

The city council will turn the square into a giant playground, to celebrate the United Nations’ convention of children’s right to play.

The fun will run from 10am to 3pm, and will include sports, arts and crafts, orienteering and pavement art.

The event will be covered by Play Day Reporters who will be interviewing people, photographing and filming the event. They will be supported by mentors*from Leicester Children’s Council*and Leicester Wave Young People’s Newspaper.
